Extremely Rare
Arkansas Amethyst
Saline County, Arkansas
USA.

Amethyst can be found quite often in many parts of the world, but in Arkansas it is extremely Rare. This particular cluster was hand dug by the well known explorer/mineralogist Henry Delinde many decades ago in Saline County, Arkansas. Henry explored Arkansas extensively along with other "non-members" of the CCA (Coon Creek Association). Some of its other notable members/scientists/explorers included Charles Milton, Mike Howard, Al Kidwell, Art Smith, and others. Henry has his findings represented in the Smithsonian's collection in Washington DC, as well as a mineral named after him, called Delindeite, which he discovered at his Diamond Jo Quarry in Magnet Cove, Arkansas in the 1980s.
