Ultra fine Optical Tabby Quartz Crystal Point
from a very special zone,
Montgomery County, Arkansas
2019 find.
This area, prospected in 2018-2020, hosted extremely fine optical crystals with superb luster (equivalent to mcearl ridge), as well as massive collapsed pockets filled with hundreds of "bird nest" vugs that hosted quartz with nacrite and manganese inclusions. Some of the quartz had thick botryoidal goethite, hematite and manganese coatings that formed thick metallic crusts, some over massive quartz points. Many of the largest points looked intact in situ, but upon extraction, they fell into several pieces. Although most of the smaller pieces were perfect. The ground here literally glittered in the sunlight when the light made its way through the treetops to the rich tailings piles. The prospect here was dug carefully by hand over several years time.
